CPR, AED, & FIRST-AID

The Sugar Grove Fire Department (SGFD) offers a variety of Public Education opportunities for the community and is always open to suggestions and feedback to enhance our programs. We are committed to providing valuable resources to help keep our residents safe.

CPR Instruction Classes

We are a remote site for the American Heart Association’s CTC located at Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, Illinois. Our CPR classes are designed to meet a range of needs and skill levels:

Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) CPR: A more in-depth course, designed for healthcare professionals, that covers the same techniques as the Friends & Family class but with additional detail. Participants will also learn how to use a Bag Valve Mask and an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). This class is essential for individuals who require certification in their profession.
Heartsaver CPR AED course is designed for individuals with little or no medical training who need to learn CPR and AED use, often for job or regulatory requirements, teaching them how to provide effective, safe, and timely assistance in cardiac emergencies.

CPR Class Fees

Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider CPR: $55.00 per student
Renewals: $45.00 per student
Heartsaver CPR AED:
- Adult/Child/Infant: $55.00 per student
- Adult/Child/Infant + First Aid: $65.00 per student

Payment is expected at the time of registration. Please note that the fee is non-refundable unless the district cancels the class.
