What is File of Life?
Emergencies can happen at any time, and during these situations, confusion and panic can make it difficult to provide first responders with essential medical information. The File of Life program helps by ensuring that paramedics and emergency responders have immediate access to critical medical details, such as:
- Pre-existing medical conditions
- Allergies
- Current medications
- Emergency contacts and family information
By having this information readily available, seconds count in an emergency — and it can make all the difference. The File of Life allows first responders to begin the best possible treatment right away, notify loved ones, and relay crucial data to doctors in the emergency room.
Why is File of Life Important?
The File of Life has already saved thousands of lives. It is an invaluable asset to emergency preparedness and provides peace of mind for households and communities across the nation. The program is designed to store vital medical information in one convenient and easily accessible location.
Recognized Nationwide:
The File of Life is easily identifiable by its logo, which is recognized by first responders throughout the U.S. and Canada. Whether found in your refrigerator, car pouch, or personal wallet insert, emergency personnel will know where to find it — ensuring that life-saving information is always at their fingertips.
